St. Ives Ratepayers' Association Mandate
- Representation and Advocacy: Acting as a voice for the community's ratepayers, the association may engage with local governments, the CSRD or other organizations on issues affecting property our community. We work to ensure that the interests of the ratepayers are considered in decision-making processes.
- Community Improvement Initiatives: We may initiate or support projects aimed at enhancing the community's appearance, safety, and overall livability. This could involve beautification projects, safety campaigns, or organizing community events.
- Information and Communication: The association often serves as an important channel for disseminating information relevant to ratepayers. This includes updates on local development plans, and other news impacting the community.
- Issue Resolution: We may assist in resolving disputes or concerns related to local services, planning decisions, or other community matters. By working closely with local authorities, we can help address issues that affect the community's ratepayers.
- Networking and Community Building: By organizing meetings, events, and forums, the association aims to foster a sense of community and enable residents to network, share concerns, and collaborate on local initiatives.
We are now a Recognized FireSmart Community!
St. Ives becoming a recognized FireSmart community signifies a significant achievement in wildfire risk reduction and community safety. The FireSmart Canada Community Recognition Program is designed to encourage and acknowledge communities that take proactive steps in wildfire defense and preparedness.
